During the Epicor Insights conference, held in Nashville, TN, on May 24, 2002, Enjet Aero was awarded the Kinetic Excellence Award for their unwavering focus on core business optimization and consistent customer satisfaction which has led to significant growth for the business. The Kinetic Excellence Award was one of 6 awards handed out by Epicor at its Annual Users Conference where nearly 4,000 Epicor users attended.

With an established reputation as a supplier of choice within the highly competitive aerospace industry, Enjet Aero, at just six years old, have completed eight acquisitions. Initially, their approach was to let each company run its own operating system. At the Epicor Insights conference, a few years ago, Enjet learned more about Epicor Kinetic in the cloud multisite capabilities and made the investment to standardize on the cloud across their locations. Epicor Kinetic in the cloud accelerated Enjet Aero’s acquisition strategy and their post-acquisition execution.

Nicholas Mueller, Director of ERP and CEO Bruce Breckenridge were on hand to accept the award and recognition from Epicor. Looking ahead, Epicor Content Management (ECM) will be a major focus for Enjet to adopt the workflows, streamline approval processes and ensure compliance with government and cybersecurity mandates, like CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) and ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).

“We have made significant investments to ensure we are operating in an efficient and timely manner that scales our investment across multiple facilities, utilizes real-time information to optimize production, and ultimately allows us to serve our customers to the best of our abilities. I’m happy to see the improvements and investments we have put in place are simplifying our processes and making a difference for our customers,” said Breckenridge.

Enjet Aero Bloomfield was recognized by Rolls Royce’s Civil Aerospace division as the “Most Improved Supplier” for 2022 during a two-day Global Aerospace Supplier Conference in the United Kingdom. This was the first in-person conference amongst Rolls Royce and their “Class Leading” suppliers since February 2020, and included a theme around “Power, Performance, and Purpose.”

Each year, Rolls Royce honors their top suppliers across seven different categories. Enjet Aero was selected this year from 1 of 3 finalists across their entire supply base in the “Most Improved” category, which recognizes not only significant performance improvement over the prior year, but also a commitment to a collaborative approach with the Rolls Royce team.

Gary Connolly, President of Enjet Aero Bloomfield, was on hand to accept the award on behalf of his team. “This award is a result of the hard work by our entire Bloomfield team to demonstrate objective evidence of performance improvement across every category of the Rolls Royce Integrated Supplier Scorecard (ISS),” said Connolly. “The commitment of the team over the last year is indicative of our continuous improvement culture focused on making our business better every day – for both our team members and our valued customers.”

Tom Cardone, Rolls Royce Account Manager for Enjet Aero Bloomfield, was also in attendance for the event and added, “This award and resulting ‘Class Leading’ ISS rating demonstrates the value and meaningful outcomes achieved from a true partnership which we are thrilled to have with our Rolls Royce supply chain team.  Their professionalism and guidance have helped elevate all aspects of our operations, and we thank them for their business and ongoing support.”

Bruce Breckenridge, Chief Executive Officer for Enjet Aero, said, “This is a great recognition for not only our Bloomfield team, but Enjet Aero as a whole. It’s a great thrill to have one of our team’s unwavering dedication toward achieving both internal and external goals be rewarded in this fashion by one of our world class customers. And I’m confident this award will only further our energy in ensuring we continue to think ahead, work ahead, and stay ahead as we strive across Enjet to deliver excellence to all of our valued customers.”

The Connecticut-based company further expands engine component manufacturer’s capabilities

Kansas City-based aerospace company, Enjet Aero, announced today the acquisition of Birken Manufacturing, reinforcing the commitment to expanding its breadth of manufacturing capabilities and customer reach. Birken Manufacturing, based in the Hartford, Connecticut area, is a high performing supplier of complex aeroengine components to Pratt & Whitney, GE Aviation, and Rolls Royce. This new acquisition comes 30 days after Enjet Aero’s recent acquisition of Enjet Aero Dayton (formerly Enginetics Corporation), located in Dayton, Ohio, from Standex International.

Founded in 1943, Birken Manufacturing is located at a 65,000 square foot modern facility in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Birken has developed a unique set of capabilities, including sheet metal assemblies, welding, large complex machining, gear box housings, vanes and struts, and a suite of inhouse cleaning and testing capabilities. The highly talented and dedicated team of engineers, machinists, fabricators, and industry experts at Birken will now become part of the Enjet Aero team. The Birken leadership team, led by Gary Connolly, will remain intact and continue to manage its existing and new customer relationships. Gary Greenberg and Adam Greenberg will also remain part of the Enjet team post-closing.

“We reached the conclusion that our future growth, relevancy and long-term strategic value to customers going forward required us to be part of a larger organization. Enjet fits the bill perfectly given their significant experience in the aerospace industry – specifically within the engine component segment. Their track record of growing acquisitions with investments in people and technologically advanced equipment, along with their long-term vision of being one integrated supplier with a wide breadth of capability to offer customers was very appealing to us,” said Gary Greenberg, the 3rd generation owner of Birken Manufacturing.

The Birken acquisition puts Enjet in a strong position to capitalize on the emerging recovery with greater capabilities, resources, and capacity to respond to the increasing production demands of OEMs. This builds upon Enjet’s ongoing strategy of being a premier partner for the industry and delivering on its promise of being ready, willing, and able to meet the needs of their customers.

“This is an exciting milestone for Enjet. Birken will expand our breadth of capabilities enabling a wider range of ‘one-stop-shop’ solutions for our customers,” said Bruce Breckenridge, Chief Executive Officer for Enjet Aero. “The addition of Birken’s talented team will create Enjet’s largest facility and ensure that we remain laser focused on continuing our mission of becoming the strategic supply chain partner of choice for aircraft engine OEM’s.”
